Spark Construction / sparkconstructionlite


There are two methods to install Spark Construction / sparkconstructionlite theme.  You may either upload the zipped theme file using the WordPress theme installer (Recommended), or you can upload the unzipped theme folder via FTP (Advanced).

Method 1 ( Recommended) : Install theme using the WordPress theme installer

  1. Log into your WordPress site and you'll see your admin dashboard.
  2. Go to Appearance > Themes in the dashboard.
  3. Click on the Add New button.
  4. Then click on Upload Theme button.
  5. Click on Choose File button. Search and select spark-construction.zip or sparkconstructionlite theme file.
  6. Click on Install Now button.

Method 2: Install theme using File Transfer Protocol (FTP)

  1. Unzip “spark-construction.zip” file on your computer.
  2. Login using FTP client to access your host web server.
  3. Locate the wp-content folder in your WordPress installed files.
  4. Upload the un-zipped spark-construction / sparkconstructionlite folder into the: wp-content/themes folder.

Activate the theme

  1. Log in to the WordPress Administration Panel.
  2. Go to Appearance > Themes in the WordPress menu
  3. Hover over the theme thumbnail and click the Activate button.

Once you install the theme, on your dashboard, you'll see a notice where plugins are recommended. There are two plugins recommended, Contact Form 7 and One Click Demo Import. Contact Form 7 is used to create contact forms used in your site. One Click Demo Import is used to import demo data to set up your site.

Plugin Installing Method

  1. Log into your site and you'll see your dashboard.
  2. On your dashboard, you'll see recommended plugins. Install them and activate them.

Demo Import is recommended only if you're finding it difficult to set up your site. You'll provided with the files using which you can import demo contents. The files are inside your theme package under folder name demo-import-files. The folder includes three files, demo-content.xml, demo-customize.dat and demo-widget.wie.

To import demo content, you've to install "One Click Demo Import" plugin which is recommended. Once you've installed the plugin, you'll see 'Import Demo Data' when you hover on Appearance on your dashboard. Click on it, and it will take you to page to import your demo contents. Upload necessary files and click on Import Demo Data button to import demo contents.

Note : For customizing, you must be logged into your site's dashboard. Every Customization options are included in customizer. So you must go to theme customizer for customizing.

By default, home page is enabled. If you want to disable home page and want default blog page, follow the instructions below:

  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Click on Home Page. There you'll see option to enable or disable home page.
  3. By default, home page is enabled. Uncheck the checkbox to disable home page and enable default blog page.
  4. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

  2. Click on About Section. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable About Section
    • Select Section Layout
    • Section Title
    • Section Sub Title
    • Section Vid Link
    • Accrodian Content
  3. Uncheck, Enable About Section, to disable about section in home page. With unchecking the option, other about section related options will not be displayed.
  4. There are two layouts for about section. Select the a layout from Select Section Layout option.

  5. Edit Section Title option to add or change about section title.
  6. Edit Section Sub Title option to add or change about section description.
  7. Edit Section Vid Link option to add or change link of video. The link can be either youtube video link or vimeo vimeo link. Other links are not supported.
  8. To add new element in the accrodian, click on Add an item button. After clicking the button, you'll see the following options:
    • Page: This option allows to set a page as an accrodian element.
    • Remove: This option allows to remove the accrodian element.
    • Close: This option colapse the option.
  9. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

About Section

For the service section to be displayed, there must be service posts. To create service post, click on Service in dashboard. Then click on Add New button. Then everything is same as creating post.

    • Section Title
    • Section Sub Title
    • Numbers of Service Post
    • Section Button Title
    • Section Button Link
    • Service Content Length
  3. Uncheck, Enable Service Section, to disable service section in home page. With unchecking the option, other service section related options will not be displayed.
  4. Edit Section Title option to add or change service section title.
  5. Edit Section Sub Title option to add or change service section description.
  6. Select number of service post to be displayed from Numbers of Service Post option.
  7. Edit Section Button Title to set the title of button displayed at the bottom of the service section.
  8. Edit Section Button Link to set the link of the button displayed at the bottom of the service section. Set the link either to the archive of service posts or any other pages.
  9. Set the length of the content of posts to be displayed in the section from Service Content Length option.
  10. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Service Section

For the project section to be displayed, there must be project posts. To create project post, click on Service in dashboard. Then click on Add New button. Then everything is same as creating post. Project posts also should have their respective category.

  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Click on Project Section. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable Project Section
    • Section Title
    • Section Sub Title
    • Project Categories
    • Numbers of Project Posts
  3. Uncheck, Enable Project Section, to disable project section in home page. With unchecking the option, other project section related options will not be displayed.
  4. Edit Section Title option to add or change project section title.
  5. Edit Section Sub Title option to add or change project section description.
  6. Choose the project categories from Project Categories. If none is choosen the project section will not be displayed in home page.
  7. Select number of project post to be displayed from Numbers of Project Post option.
  8. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.
Project Section
  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Click on Offer Section. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable Offer Section
    • Section Title
    • Section Sub Title
    • Offer Content
    • Offer Content Length
  3. Uncheck, Enable Offer Section, to disable offer section in home page. With unchecking the option, other offer section related options will not be displayed.
  4. Edit Section Title option to add or change offer section title.
  5. Edit Section Sub Title option to add or change offer section description.
  6. To add new element in the offer section, click on Add an item button. After clicking the button, you'll see the following options:
    • Offer Page: This option allows to set a page as offer element.
    • Icon: This options allows to set icon for offer element.
    • Remove: This option allows to remove the offer element.
    • Close: This option colapse the option.
    Note: If there are no contents, offer section will not be displayed.
  7. Set the length of the content of posts to be displayed in the section from Offer Content Length option.
  8. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Offer Section
  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Click on Counter Section. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable Counter Section
    • Background Image
    • Counter Content
  3. Uncheck, Enable Counter Section, to disable counter section in home page. With unchecking the option, other counter section related options will not be displayed.

  5. To add new element in the counter section, click on Add an item button. After clicking the button, you'll see the following options:
    • Count Number: This option allows to set number for counter.
    • Count Title: This options allows to set title for counter element.
    • Remove: This option allows to remove the offer element.
    • Close: This option colapse the option.
    Note: If there are no contents, counter section will not be displayed.
  6. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Counter Section
  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Click on Team Section. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable Team Section
    • Select Section Layout
    • Section Title
    • Section Sub Title
    • Team Content
  3. Uncheck, Enable Team Section, to disable team section in home page. With unchecking the option, other team section related options will not be displayed.
  4. There are two layouts of team section. Select any one from Select Section Layout option.

  7. To add new team member in the team section, click on Add an item button. After clicking the button, you'll see the following options:
    • Team Page: This option allows to set page for team member.
    • Designation: This option allows to set designation for team member.
    • Facebook Link: This option allows to set the link of facebook profile of team member.
    • Twitter Link: This option allows to set the link of twitter profile of team member.
    • Instagram Link: This option allows to set the link of instagram profile of team member.
    • Linkedin Link: This option allows to set the link of linkedin profile of team member.
    • Remove: This option allows to remove the team member.
    • Close: This option colapse the option.
    Note: If there are no contents, team section will not be displayed.
  8. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Team Section
  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Click on Blog Section. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable Blog Section
    • Select Section Layout
    • Section Title
    • Section Sub Title
    • Numbers of Blog Posts
    • Section Button Title
    • Section Button Link
    • Read More Link
    • Blog Content Length
  3. Uncheck, Enable Blog Section, to disable blog section in home page. With unchecking the option, other blog section related options will not be displayed.
  4. There are two layouts of blog section. Select any one from Select Section Layout option.

  11. Set the length of the content of posts to be displayed in the section from Blog Content Length option.
  12. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Blog Section
  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Click on Testimonial Section. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable Testimonial Section
    • Section Title
    • Section Sub Title
    • Testimonial Content
  3. Uncheck, Enable Testimonial Section, to disable testimonial section in home page. With unchecking the option, other testimonial section related options will not be displayed.
  4. Edit Section Title option to add or change testimonial section title.
  5. Edit Section Sub Title option to add or change testimonial section description.
  6. To add new testimonial in the testimonial section, click on Add an item button. After clicking the button, you'll see the following options:
    • Testimonial Page: This option allows to set page for testimony.
    • Designation: This option allows to set designation for testimony.
    • Rating: This option allows to set the rate provided by testimony.
    • Remove: This option allows to remove the team member.
    • Close: This option colapse the option.
    Note: If there are no contents, testimonial section will not be displayed.
  7. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Testimonial Section
  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Click on Pricing Section. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable Pricing Section
    • Section Title
    • Section Sub Title
    • Pricing Content
  3. Uncheck, Enable Pricing Section, to disable pricing section in home page. With unchecking the option, other pricing section related options will not be displayed.
  4. Edit Section Title option to add or change pricing section title.
  5. Edit Section Sub Title option to add or change pricing section description.
  6. To add new pricing detail in the prcing section, click on Add an item button. After clicking the button, you'll see the following options:
    • Pricing Page: This option allows to set page for pricing detail.
    • Price Icon: This option allows to set icon for pricing detail.
    • Price Amount: This option allows to set the price amount of pricing detail.
    • Price Button Title: This option allows to set the title of button displayed at the bottom of pricing detail.
    • Price Button Link: This option allows to set the link of button displayed at the bottom of pricing detail.
    • Remove: This option allows to remove the team member.
    • Close: This option colapse the option.
    Note: If there are no contents, testimonial section will not be displayed. Only 3 items can be added.
  7. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Pricing Section
  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Click on CTA Section. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable CTA Section
    • CTA Page
    • Section Button Title
    • Section Button Link
  3. Uncheck, Enable CTA Section, to disable CTA section in home page. With unchecking the option, other CTA section related options will not be displayed.
  4. Select a page to be displayed as CTA content from CTA Page.
  5. Edit Section Button Title to set the title of button displayed at the bottom of the CTA section.
  6. Edit Section Button Link to set the link of the button displayed at the bottom of the CTA section.
  7. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

CTA Section
  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Click on Partner Section. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable Partner Section
    • Section Title
    • Section Sub Title
    • Partner Content
  3. Uncheck, Enable Partner Section, to disable partner section in home page. With unchecking the option, other partner section related options will not be displayed.
  4. Edit Section Title option to add or change partner section title.
  5. Edit Section Sub Title option to add or change partner section description.
  6. To add new partner in the partner section, click on Add an item button. After clicking the button, you'll see the following options:
    • Partner Image: This option allows to set image of partner.
    • Partner Link: This option allows to set link of partner.
    • Remove: This option allows to remove the partner.
    • Close: This option colapse the option.
    Note: If there are no contents, partner section will not be displayed.
  7. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Partner Section
  1. Click on HomePage Options.
  2. Then click on Section Re Order. You'll see the list of position of sections. Just Drag and drop the sections to the position you want sections to be placed.
  3. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.
Section Reorder
  1. Click on Theme Options.
  2. Click on Header. There you'll see following options:
    • Choose Header Layout
    • Enable Top Header
    • Company Contact Number
    • Company Email
    • Company Working Hour
  3. There are two layouts of header. Choose any one from Choose Header Layout option.

  4. Check Enable Top Header to display top header with social links and other company related informations. If Enable Top Header is unchecked then the options, Company Contact Number, Company Email and Company Working Hour will not be displayed.
  5. Edit Comapany Contact Number to add contact number of company.
  6. Edit Comapany Email to add email address of company.
  7. Edit Comapany Working Hour to add info of opening time of company.
  8. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Header Section
  1. Click on Theme Options.
  2. Click on Archive Page. There you'll see following options:
    • Sidebar Position
    • Excerpt Length
  3. Select position where sidebar is to be displayed from Sidebar Position option. Either set it to Right, Left or None.
  4. Excerpt Length controls the length of excerpt of post content to be displayed.
  5. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Archive Options
  1. Click on Theme Options.
  2. Click on Post Page. There you'll see following options:
    • Enable Social Post Sharing (Pro)
    • Enable Comments
  3. Check Enable Social Post Sharing to enable post sharing via social sites. Uncheck it to disable post sharing.
  4. To enable comments, check Enable Comments option.
  5. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Blog Single Post
  1. Click on Theme Options.
  2. Click on Porject Single. There you'll see following options:
    • Project Overview Title
    • Contact Form Title
    • Contact Form Shortcode
  3. Set the title of detailed overview section of project from Project Overview Title option.
  4. Set the title of contact form section of project from Contact Form Title option.
  5. Set the shortcode of contact form of project from Contact Form Shortcode option.
    Note: Use plugins like Contact Form 7 to generate contact form and use the shortcode.
  6. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Project Single
  1. Click on Theme Options.
  2. Click on Service Single. There you'll see following options:
    • Service Posts Title
    • Service Posts Number
    • Service Form Title
    • Contact Form Shortcode
  3. Set the title of lists of posts of service from Service Posts Title.
  4. Set the no of of posts to be displayed in the list of service from Service Posts Title.
  5. Set the title of contact form section of service from Contact Form Title option.
  6. Set the shortcode of contact form of service from Contact Form Shortcode option.
    Note: Use plugins like Contact Form 7 to generate contact form and use the shortcode.
  7. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Service Single
  1. Click on Theme Color.
  2. Click on Theme Color. There you'll see following options:
    • Theme Color
  3. Set the color of site using Theme Color option.
  4. To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Theme Color
  1. Click on Site Identity
  2. There are following options:
    • Logo: Set Logo of your site.
    • Site Title: Set the title of your site.
    • Tagline: Set short description of your site.
    • Display Site Title and Tagline: Check to display site title and tagline. Uncheck to hide.
    • Site Icon: Set the favicon of your site. It is displayed on the tab of your browser.
    • To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Site Identity
  1. Click on Colors
  2. There are following options:
    • Header Text Color: Set color of site title.
    • Background Color: Set background of your site.
    • To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Color Option
  1. Click on Header Image
  2. There are following options:
    • Current Header: Click on Add new image to add header image.
    • To remove the header image, Hover on image in Previously uploaded and click on Cross Button.
    • If there are more than one header image, to randomly select header image, click on Randomize uploaded headers button.
    • To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

  2. There are following options:
    • Background Image: Click on Select image to add background image.
    • To remove the background image, click on Remove button.
    • To change the background image, click on Change button.
    • Choose background property from options Preset and Image Position.
    • Check on Repeat Background Image option, if you want your background image to be repeated.
    • To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Background Image
There are two types of menu in Spark Construction. One for the primary navigation menu and another for social links. Primary navigation menu is displayed besides or below the logo with respect to header layout selected. Social Link menu is displayed on top header section before company info details. By default primary navigation menu has fall callback set to pages i.e. if there are no items in primary menu, pages will be displayed.

Set Up Primary Menu

  1. Log into your WordPress site and then you'll see your dashboard.
  2. Go to Appearance > Menus in the dashboard menu
  3. Click on create a new menu link
  4. Give a name to your menu in Menu Name and click Create Menu button
  5. Now choose the pages, categories, custom links from the left side of your screen by selecting the checkbox and click on Add Menu
  6. Set Theme Location to primary.
  7. Click Save Menu button after adding required pages, categories in the menu

Set Up Social Menu

  1. Log into your WordPress site and then you'll see your dashboard.
  2. Go to Appearance > Menus in the dashboard menu
  3. Click on create a new menu link
  4. Give a name to your menu in Menu Name and click Create Menu button
  5. Now click on Custom Links. Enter the link of social site in URL field and set the title in Link Text field.
  6. After that Click on Add to Menu button to add it to menu.
  7. Set Theme Location to social.
  8. Click Save Menu button

Sidebar and Footer are two widget areas used in this theme. In order to enable Sidebar and Footer, widgets must be included in them.
  1. Log into your WordPress site and then you'll see your dashboard.
  2. Go to Appearance > Widgets in the dashboard menu
  3. There you'll see list of available widgets and two widget areas, Sidebar and Footer. Except for SC: Company Info widget, all of the widgets can be used in both Sidebar and Footer. SC: Company Info widget, is used in Footer.
  4. To include the widgets in Sidebar and Footer, simply drag and drop widgets in Sidebar and Footer.

Sidebar & Footer Widget Area
This theme supports the Custom CSS, which overwrites the CSS of the main stylesheet file, so that you can apply some CSS to change the look of the site as you desire. Also, this changes will still remain even if you update the theme.

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS
  2. Open > Additional CSS and Add Custom CSS as per your requirement
  3. Click Publish to save the changes.

  1. On your dashboard, hover on Pages and then click on Add New
  2. Enter the title and content. Set featured image, set page attributes and select sidebar position.
  3. Click Publish button to publish the page.

Create Page
  1. On your dashboard, hover on Posts and then click on Add New
  2. Enter the title and content. Set featured image and select sidebar position. Select categories and tags. If there are no categories and tags, you can add them.
  3. Click Publish button to publish the post.

Create Post
  1. On your dashboard, hover on Project and then click on Add New
  2. Enter the title and content. Set featured image, set project overview and select sidebar position. Select project types. If there are no project types, you can add them.
  3. Click Publish button to publish the project.

Create Project
  1. On your dashboard, hover on Project and then click on Add New
  2. Enter the title and content. Set featured image and select sidebar position.
  3. Click Publish button to publish the service.
